Welcome to Blaine and Birch Bay!
The waterfront towns of Blaine and Birch Bay, located in the county's northwestern corner, have a character based on the harbors they originated from.
Blaine remains a working waterfront, though its fishing fleet has suffered from the depletion of salmon stocks. The amount of pleasure boaters, however, has increased, as boaters join the commercial fleet to enjoy the protected waters and beautiful scenery of the San Juan and Gulf Islands. Blaine features a downtown historic district, the Peace Arch park, and duty-free shopping for Canadian customers.
For a fabulous destination resort and excellent golf course, visit the Resort Semiahmoo and marina. It is located in the new residential area of Semiahmoo, which is between Blaine and Birch Bay. And for great shopping, be sure to check out the Peace Arch Factory outlets, accessible from all three areas.
